The square carbide woodturning chisel is the finishing specialist. Where the round chisel shapes and curves, the square chisel cleans up, flattens and refines — making it an essential companion for any woodturner who wants a truly polished result from their work.
Our 15mm radiused square tip features a 2° curved cutting edge rather than a perfectly straight one. This subtle curve makes all the difference in practice — it gives you a more forgiving cutting angle that’s less likely to dig in, making it ideal for smoothing work, scraping cuts and getting a clean flat surface on spindles, platters and box lids.
Handmade here in York, England, with a 10mm British steel shaft and traditional ash handle, this chisel is built to last. The carbide tip holds its edge far longer than traditional high speed steel — and when it does eventually need replacing, it takes seconds with the included hex key.
